Radio Frequency (RF) Analyzers
RF Analysers use antennas to receive radio waves and a processor to analyse the RF spectrum. They can detect radio communication between a drone and its controller.
Some systems such as tatusky Portable Drone Detector can identify the more common drone brands and models, and some systems can also identify the MAC addresses of drones and controllers (if the they uses Wi-Fi for communication).

Low cost, detects (and sometimes identifies) multiple drones and controllers, passive so no licence required.
