Q1: Is this drone detection module legal to use in my region?
A: Our module adopts fully passive detection technology—it only receives ambient RF signals and never emits any radiation, making it compliant with most countries’ electromagnetic regulations. We still recommend checking your local radio management and privacy laws before deployment to ensure full compliance.
Q2: Does the module require an external computer to process detection data?
A: No. The module integrates a high-performance computing unit internally, so it can independently complete signal analysis, drone identification and alert generation without extra host hardware. You only need to connect it to your monitoring platform via Ethernet or serial port.
Q3: Can it detect both commercial drones like DJI/AUTEL and self-built DIY drones?
A: Yes. Based on our proprietary CRPC technology, it supports accurate identification of mainstream consumer and industrial drones from brands like DJI and AUTEL, as well as most DIY FPV drones that broadcast identifiable RF signals.
Q4: What is the difference between the passive GPS antenna included in the standard package and an active GPS antenna?
A: The standard package includes a passive GPS antenna, which delivers better positioning stability when paired with the included LNA limiter. Active GPS antennas have a built-in amplifier and do not require an extra LNA limiter, but they are not included in standard shipments and need to be purchased separately if required.
Q5: How do I set up the black and white list function?
A: You can configure blacklists (for non-cooperative drones that trigger alerts) and whitelists (for cooperative drones that suppress alerts) via our standard API or the built-in command and control system. Technical engineers can provide step-by-step guidance during integration.
Q6: Can this module work with existing security equipment like radar or jamming systems?
A: Absolutely. The module supports joint debugging and integration with radio jammers, radar systems, electro-optical cameras and other peripheral devices through standard communication interfaces, helping you build a multi-sensor low-altitude defense system.
Q7: Why is there an “X” RF port on the module? What is it used for?
A: The X port is a reserved expansion interface. It can be used to add a 4G communication module for parsing O4 protocol, enabling remote wireless data transmission and cloud-based management. This function is optional and needs custom configuration from our technical team.
Q8: What kind of heat dissipation is required for stable operation?
A: The module has a compact aluminum housing for natural heat dissipation, but we recommend installing it in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight. If deploying in high-temperature environments above 40℃, adding external forced air cooling via the dedicated fan connector is advised.
Q9: Can I expand the detection range with multiple antennas?
A: Yes. The module supports two expansion options: you can either add a 1-to-4 RF switch to connect up to 4 external detection antennas, or integrate the built-in RF switch variant to cover wider areas. Corresponding accessories are available as add-on packages.
